A chairside checklist for identifying eligible veteran patients
ELIGIBILITY CHECKLIST
U.S. military veteran
Active cancer diagnosis
Stage IIIB–IV (preferred)
Tumor tissue available
Accessible medical records
Willing to engage navigation
Age 18 or older
Any branch, any role — Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, Reserve, National Guard. Active duty eligible and considered case by case.
Primarily solid tumors. Brain and blood cancers evaluated individually — refer and let SOTERIA assess.
Earlier-stage cancers considered at investigator discretion. Do not exclude a patient based on stage alone.
▶ Earlier stage? Refer anyway.
FFPE or fresh frozen from prior or upcoming standard-of-care biopsy or resection. No research-only biopsy required.
▶ Tissue unavailable? Contact SOTERIA before excluding.
Patient must have retrievable records. SOTERIA coordinates consolidation — no burden on your team.
Patient able to participate in intake call and ongoing communication with SOTERIA nurse navigator.
No upper age limit.
Refer a patient directly
Share the SOTERIA’s Cancer Hunt information with the patient and direct them to self schedule an initial consultation with our team.
Earlier-stage solid tumor
Investigator discretion applies. Refer and let SOTERIA evaluate — do not self-exclude on behalf of the patient.
Tissue unavailable
SOTERIA can assess whether upcoming procedures may yield tissue, or whether non-study navigation support is appropriate.
Does not qualify for TargeTx
Non-study navigation support remains available — insurance navigation, lab assistance programs, and SOTERIA support funds.
